Lisa Jenkin, RN
Director of Health & Wellness
Lisa was born and raised in Hagerstown. She attended Hagerstown Community College obtaining an associate degree in nursing. Lisa began her career at Reeder’s Memorial Home in Boonsboro. She immediately fell in love with senior care and has never looked back.
Her marriage moved her from Boonsboro to Frostburg, Maryland where she worked as a Charge Nurse at Frostburg Village Nursing Home. She returned to college at Frostburg State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree. For the next twenty-three years she worked for PharmaCare in Cumberland. She started as a QA Nurse performing audits at long-term care facilities and was promoted to Travel Medicine and Wellness Nurse in 2015. She eventually moved back to Hagerstown and worked at Williamsport Retirement Village as a Nurse Manager. She enjoyed her experience, the staff and residents, and felt she had found a career with purpose. When COVID struck, she switched careers to become a COVID vaccinator for CVS. Seaton Hagerstown was one of her vaccination sites where she fell in love with the team and residents. When the opening for the Director of Health and Wellness was posted, Lisa applied and was offered the position. She plans to retire from her rewarding career at Seaton Hagerstown. She is passionate about the residents, the care they receive and feels teamwork is biggest strength of the community’s care team and the how they support one another. She considers her strongest assets are being a good listener and patience. Lisa is honored to have two wonderful children, Madeleine, 29 and Joseph, 33. Both have successful careers, living and working in Columbian and Baltimore City respectively. Lisa claims she has “the best dog in the world”, a French bulldog named Alexander Hamilton and a bobtailed kitten named Queen LaTikka. When not at work you can find Lisa painting, writing poetry, riding horses or taking care of her favorite plants. She is most appreciative of the opportunity Discovery Senior Living has given her to continue to grow in her career and providing valuable support when needed.
